The National Probation Service (Cambridgeshire Area)

We are one of 42 probation areas throughout England and Wales that make up the National Probation Service, part of the National Offender Management Service (NOMS).

We are a public protection agency supervising offenders in the community. We work closely with organisations within the criminal justice system including the Prison Service, Police, Crown Prosecution Service, Witness Support Service and local solicitors.

Our aims are to:

  • protect the public from harm
  • reduce re-offending
  • ensure the proper punishment and rehabilitation of offenders
  • make offenders aware of the effects of crime.

On this site you can find out more about how we work with offenders, courts and victims. There are also areas where you can find out about careers within the service and information about how to contact us.
