Programmes

Work with prolific drug users has been developed in partnership with the Drugs Interventions Programme. Cambridgeshire Probation Area staff work in close collaboration with the Drug and Alcohol Action Team, health services and the Police, to ensure the regular testing of drug users under national standards and the delivery of effective interventions.

At least two Offender Substance Abuse programmes for drug and alcohol misusers are planned for 2007.

Other Accredited Programmes include:

In 2007 we intend to develop our delivery of the Alcohol Treatment Requirement through our partnership with Drinksense. The pilot project will be in Peterborough and Cambridgeshire Drinksense will provide support and advice to offenders with identified acohol needs in line with the national 'models of care' approach.

Planned additions to the portfolio of programmes include skills programmes and an Internet Sex Offenders Programme, the latter being developed collaboratively with other Probation Areas.
