'Thames Valley' Sex Offender Groupwork Programme

The Thames Valley Sex Offenders Groupwork Programme has been developed by internationally recognised experts in the field of sex offender research and practice to exacting requirements.

It challenges denial by encouraging offenders to take full and active responsibility for their behaviour. It helps offenders develop strategies to prevent a relapse and aims to increase their levels of social competence (something frequently lacking in sex offenders).

The programme requires intensive assessment and psychometric testing and offenders are expected to repeat elements of the programme deemed necessary. It also links to the Multi-Agency Public Protection Panels staffed by the Police, Social Services, Probation Service and Prisons.
